Effects
There are a large number of obscure and common effects in science, usually described with certain common constants cropping up, and all of these effects have been carefully catalogued by science, but sometimes the names can be hard to remember.
Here are a few of them
- Applegate effect - electromagnetic twisting
- Bernoulli effect - differential pressure
- Cherenkov effect - radiation
- Doppler effect - sound and light
- Fohn or Foehn Effect - meteorology
- Greenhouse Effect - climate
- Hall effect - magnetic
- Meissner effect - superconductivity, magnetism

- Placebo Effect - medicine
- Seebeck effect - thermoelectric (ie generators)
- Tyndall effect - differential scattering of multicoloured light by very small particles
- Zeemann effect - flow & charge
